Every child of a fallen soldier or disabled veteran deserves the chance to build a future. The HHF Scholarship Program provides annual awards to students across the US, Europe, and the broader world veteran community.
Through our affiliated foundation Vatan Kahramanları Vakfı, we also support scholarship recipients in Turkey and the Turkic world.
Our scholarships are open to students worldwide who meet at least one of the following criteria:
Students whose parent was killed in active military service, a peacekeeping mission, or a counter-terrorism operation — in any country.
Students with a parent who received a service-connected disability rating of 30% or higher from any recognized national veteran authority.
Siblings and children of military personnel who gave their lives in service to their nation. All nationalities and conflicts considered.
Active veterans returning to education qualify for a separate track of the scholarship program, with priority for combat veterans.
Students from any country are eligible. We particularly encourage applications from underserved communities in conflict-affected regions.
A separate needs-based track is available for applicants who demonstrate exceptional financial hardship, regardless of military family status.
Review the eligibility criteria above. If you qualify under any category, you may apply.
You will need: proof of military service/death/disability, academic transcripts, two reference letters, and a 500-word personal essay.
Complete our online application form or download a PDF form from our website. Deadline: May 31 each year.
All applicants receive a decision by August 31. Award letters are sent electronically. Funds are disbursed directly to institutions.
Do not let financial barriers stand between a hero's child and their education. Apply today or donate to fund a scholarship.
